We would like to share the following training opportunity with you all – Commercial Sexual Exploitation Among Tribal Youth in California: Culture is Prevention! This training is online and is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Please feel free to share with child welfare staff, including social workers, supervisors and senior leaders as well as with any other staff you believe could benefit from this training.
This full-day training session is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by tribal youth in foster care who have experienced sexual exploitation. Participants will explore risk factors and best practices for identifying and supporting these youth. The training aims to enhance collaborative efforts by providing essential knowledge, skills, and perspectives, with a strong emphasis on cultural connections and resources as pathways to healing. Building on the foundational concepts covered in CSEC 101, this session delves deeper into the specific issues affecting tribal youth within the context of sexual exploitation.
